This lesson asks students to design their own space aliens based on what the conditions of each planet are. This is a great opportunity to integrate art and design into the science classroom, while giving students a personal connection to the conditions of each planet. Students are unlimited in what they can create, as long as they can give a reason for the design. I used this activity this past week and, from experience, when I do the lesson again, I will ask students to describe 3-5 attributes (depending on time) of the alien that make it perfect for their planet.
